About Us and Our Plan

When hearing about our decision most people reacted like: “How brave”. Until now we do not feel very brave. For about 6 months now we have been busy with planning and organizing things. It is unbelievable how long the check list is you have to complete. Especially, if you want to have all possibilities during and after the trip.

As we want to travel for one and a half year we did not have the possibility of an unpaid vacation or sabbatical year. Therefore, we both resigned from our secure jobs and terminated our tenancy. We got rid off as many things as possible. We are glad to have the possibility to store the leftovers at our friend’s place and it is amazing how much it still is.

Besides the word “brave” we heard things like “cool” and “I would like to do that as well”. Go on, just have the heart to do it! The first step is the steepest. Of course, we do not have kids and other commitments but we believe, no handicap is big enough to keep you from your dreams. With this website we want to give you some courage. We want to show that you neither need to be rich nor crazy to go this way.

Needless to say that some people came up with „How can you quit such a good job?“ We have done it and are confident about our future...
